Yandé Codou Sène (1932 Somb, Senegal – 15 July 2010, Gandiaye, Senegal) was a famous Senegalese griot. She was the official griot of the first Senegalese president Léopold Sédar Senghor [1] [2]. Yandé Codou was from the sereer tribe. Even though she has been a performing artist for all her life, she recorded for the first time in 1995, for a duo record with Youssou N'Dour.
