Querulous: Used to describe a person who
- tends to complain or is inclined to find fault
- whines too often
Pronounced as Quer (from Query) + a + L (the L sound) + Us
It is derived from the Latin root – Queri which means to complain. Queri is also the root of Quarrel.
Situational Uses:
- The querulous, young kid was disdained by his classmates for his habit of complaining and cribbing about everything around him.
- His querulousness often gets on my nerves. His whining is so intolerable.
