На фоне агрессивной критики из США президент России Дмитрий Медведев развеял сомнения относительно будущего страны. Он заверил, что Россия не даст себя столкнуть на путь изоляции и авторитаризма и продолжит курс построения свободного демократического государства, призвал Европу поскорее заключить договор о безопасности и выразил надежду на восстановление дружеских отношений с грузинским народом.
