I took this photo when I was travelling from Irktusk to Ulan Ude, July 2008.

Baikal from Sukhaia.

Ivolginskii Datsan- Buryat Buddhist Temple, Vajrayana Buddhism.

The un-ending Taiga. Taezhnaia Buryatiia-Ia v tebia vlubilsa.

Museum of Ethnography-Buryatia. A church in the field was transported here for preservation purposes.

Mongolian Stele- Can anyone help me to translate what it says? Thanks...

The biggest head of Lenin is to be found on the Soviet Square (Ploschad Sovetov) in Ulan Ude.
