Compiling MySQL 5.1 for OWm2
Submitted by Bèrto ëd Sèra on Thu, 08/14/2008 - 13:26Hopefully as MySQL 5.1 moves to a final stable release things will get much simpler... in the meantime, that's what you are supposed to do. The versions used are explicitly stated, if you have any weird surprise by later version pls signal it here.Pls note that this instructions are for Debian only, maybe they work under other systems, but I haven't checked them and I do not plan to check them in the future.

Submitted by Sabine Eller on Fri, 03/14/2008 - 07:58The Wiki-Read feature of OmegaT shall help to easily retreive Data from a MediaWiki page into OmegaT for translation.
Now normal wiki pages are built like this:

When wanting to retreive the text of such a MediaWiki (in this case Wikipedia) page the link you insert with OmegaT has to look like this:
Some Notes on my Life Connected to Dictionary Thoughts
Submitted by Sabine Eller on Tue, 03/11/2008 - 19:03I should start this part with "once upon a time", but this would make you believe it is a fairy tale, well today it is not anymore, it is about to become true, so ... I'll just talk.
The OmegaWiki story
Submitted by Sabine Eller on Tue, 03/11/2008 - 17:03Well being one of the initiators of OmegaWiki I think it is time to start writing down how everything started, integrating step by step our adventure in the world of words and dictionaries.
I'd like to dedicate this book to some very special people, those who in some way changed and are changing my life and therefore they will be mentioned only when things are ready.
Omegawiki: towards a 2.0
Submitted by Bèrto ëd Sèra on Sat, 01/26/2008 - 19:45All software sooner or later needs a new release. Requirements evolve in time, new functionalities get added and sooner or later even the best design needs some basic reordering. 2.0 time has come for OmegaWiki, too.
Implementation details are currently more or less in a RFC state. It is extremely important that we do not try to be friendly, but rather to be as hypercritical as one can be. Whatever is not assessed now will cost money and time later, which is definitely not what we want.
Reality Generators
Submitted by Bèrto ëd Sèra on Mon, 01/21/2008 - 10:08Language is a simple thing: it is the capability of assigning a symbol to a structure, and to use this symbol to generate more complex structures, which again can be assigned a symbol a further be re-used in the very same way.
It looks as if it was possible to emulate such a simple thing by writing a simple viral mechanism that would act in the same way, yet there is a set of limits that we are currently unable to trespass.
